MOUNT CARMEL

A mountain range between the Valley Jezreel in the northeast and the coastal plain in the west. This is where the confrontation between Elijah and the false prophets of Baal took place. The city of Haifa is at the north-western end of the range, and two large Druze villages are located on the mountain further south.
