
Day 1-Tuesday Tel Aviv
Upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport you will be met, assisted and transferred
to your hotel in Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight.
Day 2-Wednesday Caesarea/Mt. Carmel/Megiddo/Nazareth/Cana
Drive along the Mediterranean coast to the ruins of the
ancient Roman capital, Caesarea, built by Herod
the Great in 22 BC. Visit the Roman theater, aqueduct and Crusader fortress.
Continue to Haifa for a panoramic view of the city and proceed to visit the
Carmelite Monastery. Drive via the Valley of Armageddon to the excavation of
Tel Megiddo. Proceed to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation and
Mary's Well. Drive to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.
Day 3-Thursday Mt. of Beatitudes/Tabgha/Capernaum/Golan
Heights
Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, then visit the Mt. of Beatitudes, site
of the Sermon on the Mount, and Tabgha, site of the Miracle of the Loaves and
Fishes. Proceed to Capernaum and cross the River
Jordan to visit Caesarea Philippi and the Golan Heights. Return to Tiberias
for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 -Friday Beit She'an/Jericho/Jerusalem
Start the day with a visit to Yardenit, the Baptismal site on the River Jordan.
Drive to Bet She'an and see the ancient amphitheater. Continue along the Jordan
Valley to Jericho, to visit the oldest city on earth. Proceed via the Judean
Desert to the Holy City of Jerusalem. Check into your hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 5-Saturday Old City of Jerusalem
Today we will visit the Old City, the Western (Wailing) Wall, Temple Mount and
the Dome of the Rock. Continue to the Pools of Bethesda and the Church of St.
Anne, then walk the Via Dolorosa, beginning at Pilate's Judgement Hall and ending
at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. In the afternoon, we explore Mt. Zion.
Visit St. Peter in Gallicantu, the Room of the Last Supper and the tomb of King
David. We will end the tour with a visit to the Garden Tomb. Return to hotel
for dinner and overnight.
Day 6-Sunday City of Jerusalem/Bethlehem
Drive to Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem and the surrounding
area. Proceed to the Church of Ascension and the Garden of Gethsemane. See the
Kidron Valley and the tombs of Absalom, Zechariah and James. Next is a visit
to the scale model of Jerusalem at the time of the Second Temple, then on to
the Shrine of the Book at the Israel Museum, to see the display of the Dead
Sea Scrolls. Continue to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum and Memorial. On to
the village of Ein Karem, the site of the "Visitation" and birth-place of John
the Baptist. Drive to nearby Bethlehem and visit the Church of Nativity. View
the Shepherds' Field. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 7-Monday Dead Sea/Massada/Qumran
Your route today takes you to the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on
earth. Drive south to Massada. Ascend by cable-car to the top of the mountain
to marvel at Kings Herod's fortress, visit the synagogue, the bath-house and
more. Enjoy a short swim in the Dead Sea. Drive to Qumran. Return to your hotel
in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 8-Tuesday
Transfer to Ben Gurion International Airport for your departure flight.
