A visit to Caesarea is not only visiting the ancient Roman and Crusaders’ ruins. Just a step away from the archaeological site, is one of the outstanding Ralli Museums, Ralli 1, one of the five Ralli museums, also found in Spain, Uruguay and Chile. The Ralli Museums were founded by the Harry Recanati Foundation.

A real surprise is waiting for you behind the door!

Mr. Recanati has donated his enormous private art collection to the Recanati foundation that also keeps the museum operating. One of the few only museums in Israel, with free entrance. The museum holds an important collection of contemporary Latin American art. One of its permanent exhibitions includes 41 Salvador Dali’s sculptures. On the upper floor, the glass door will lead you to the open terrace with beautiful and impressive large bronze statues.

On our way home we stopped at the house of an old friend, Miki, who is proud on his coffee mills collection, probably the largest collection of its type in Israel. A real museum inside his home. Miki enjoyed showing us around giving us an explanation on some of the rare pieces in his fascinating collection.
