MOUNT OF BEATITUDES

A Christian holy site, on a hill-top overlooking the Sea of Galilee. A modern Catholic church commemorates the site where Jesus taught the Sermon on the Mount. The lie of the land next to the church forms a natural amphitheater sloping down to the lake side, so it is more likely that Jesus stood at the bottom of the hill, but this does not detract from the beauty of the church on its crest.
